The new 40 is designed by Germán Frers from Argentina. The Hallberg-Rassy 40 combines the experience of his designs for the Volvo Ocean Race and the America's Cup. The HR 40 is refreshingly new in her detail and at the same time she adheres to the tradition Hallberg-Rassy stands for.
The Hallberg-Rassy 40 is a long distance cruiser of highest quality from the Swedish island Orust. The boat is the result of the yard’s long experience in boatbuilding. The HR 40 has just won not only the title Best Liveaboard Cruising Boat, but also Best Overall Vessel in the US Cruising World magazine. The HR 40 beat out 31 other nominees. Judges called the Hallberg-Rassy 40:
